The Governing Body

Complaints Procedure

A note from the chair of governors

Governors

The governing body of The Weatheralls consists of a voluntary group of local people appointed for a four-year term of office. They represent the Local Authority (Cambridge County Council), the local community, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff.

Together with the Headteacher they are responsible for implementing the Government’s policy on education, including the National curriculum. Their responsibilities also include the appointment and dismissal of staff, admissions, health and safety, discipline, school premises and the school budget.

Governors take a keen interest in all the school’s activities and support and encourage staff and pupils in every possible way. Parents are welcome to contact any member, via the school, to discuss any aspect of school life although it should be noted, if any parent has a complaint to make about the school, this should, initially, be discussed with the staff or head teacher. (See Complaints Procedure.)
