Helping in School

We consider it a privilege that adults are willing to give up their time to help within our school and hope that you, in turn, consider it a privilege to work at The Weatheralls. Prior to working in the school you will need to complete a volunteer helper registration form which is available from your child's class teacher or from the school office. You will also be given a copy of the Code of Practise and a welcome letter. You will then have a meeting with the Headteacher to discuss the skills you are able to offer the school and what the school expects from you. You will then be contacted by any class teachers to negotiate a time for you to come and help in thier class.

Whilst you are in school you will be asked to abide by the ‘Volunteer Helpers Code Of Practice’ and, in particular, to treat all information about the children with full confidentiality. Should you be in any difficulty with this please refer to the teacher or the Headteacher.

Your teacher will advise you about refreshments and procedures at breaktimes and provide you with a timetable and specific guidance on how to help.

Thank you once again for offering your support. We are very grateful to you and are sure that you will find being in school most interesting and rewarding.
