Learning and Teaching High quality learning and teaching is the purpose of our school. It is the vehicle through which we offer an inclusive curriculum which is broad and balanced and meets the requirements of the Foundation Curriculum, National Curriculum, Religious Education and Collective Worship. Our aims are that all children will;
- learn to celebrate diversity by working cooperatively and showing a respectful understanding of the rights, views and property of others,
- develop a responsible and independent attitude towards learning and their role as citizens – locally, nationally and globally,
- achieve their potential in terms of academic achievement, aesthetic appreciation and spiritual awareness,
- experience excitement and enjoyment – being inspired to develop their curiosity and a positive attitude to life.
Learning and teaching is more than just a school based activity - we embrace the support and involvement of parents and the wider community. All members of the school community work towards the school’s aims and values by attending to the five outcomes of ‘Every Child Matters’ – that is to enable children to:
- Be Healthy
- Stay Safe
- Enjoy and Achieve
- Make a Positive Contribution
- Achieve Economic Well-being
