Houses

All children at The Weatheralls are members of a team or a 'house'.

In 2009 our houses were renamed to honour the heroes of the Soham Train Disaster in WW2.

Benjamin Gimbert (Driver), James Nightall (Fireman), Frank Bridges (Signalman) and Herbert Clarke (Guard) saved Soham town from disaster when a train full of ammunition caught fire.  James Nighhall and Frank Bridges were killed when the train exploded outside the town.

Nightall is Blue

Bridges is Green

Gimbert is Red

Clarke is Yellow.

Children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 can earn house points for their house and each week in assembly the winning house receives the 'House point' trophy for that week. On sports day we hold a relay race between the houses.

This academic year (2009-2010) we are introducing more inter-house competitions. So far we have had a hockey competition and an art competition.

Each house has captains (1 boy and 1 girl) and vice-captain (1 boy and 1 girl) from Year 6.
